I own a T14s Gen1, and previously had the T14 Gen1 (without the s) for work both of which worked flawlessly under Linux. When the hub/docks HDMI port is not working, no display will be shown on a monitor connected to the hub or dock.
I'm at a loss to explain what the issue could be except to say that maybe the Thinkpad T14 Gen 3 is **too new** and there's still hardware incompatibilities with Linux?
After connecting a Server, go to my-kaleidescape (server address) pull up the Components section and check the Player's video settings. I then re-installed Archlinux and the same issue still persists. If you only have a Black screen, it may be that the Player's 'Video' output settings do not match your output method (HDMI in your case), or some other video setting may be affecting what you see. No BIOS/UEFI or other firmware updates were found on the Lenovo website to date.
